Valentine's French Kiss

Remember the French 75 cocktail we saw some time ago? Well today, since we are only two days away from Valentine’s Day, we are going to take a taste of a version of the original cocktail, called French Kiss! Of course, the French Kiss cocktail has quite a few variations itself, but due to the occasion, we are going to try the Valentine’s French Kiss!

Are you intrigued? I sure do hope so!

You see, it is more or less the same cocktail! We have Gin, we have sparkling wine, lemon juice, we even got a lemon peel for the garnish. However, this time, instead of simple syrup we are going to use an elderflower liqueur and mashed raspberries or strawberries that will give the cocktail a completely different scent and look as well!

It is Valentine’s Day we are prepping for, so the only color that we are allowed to have for today’s cocktail recipe is pink!

So how about we take a look at the cocktail recipe and see what this Valentine’s French Kiss cocktail is all about!

  • 30ml / 1 part Gin
  • 15ml / 1/2 part St-Germain elderflower liqueur
  • Lemon juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 3 raspberries or strawberries
  • Some Champagne, Prosecco or Moscato wine to top off
  • Lemon peel (for the garnish)

Pour the Gin, the Liqueur and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Squash the raspberries or the strawberries, depending on your personal preference, in the shaker with a muddler. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and shake for a bit. Drain the mixture in a champagne flute or a Martini glass and top off with your sparkling wine. You may garnish with a lemon peel if you like and your Valentine’s French Kiss is ready to serve!
