The Mimosa cocktail is traditionally made with Champagne and citrus fruit juice such as orange juice. It is served with morning brunch or in special events such as wedding receptions. Originally, equal parts of the ingredients were used for this drink, however, a ratio of 2 to 1 has emerged and is now most commonly used. Some of the variations for this cocktail include mango or grapefruit instead of orange juice. Other variations include the use of any other sparkling wine, such as Cava or Prosecco instead of Champagne and a bit of Grand Marnier or triple sec. Some even prefer to not add garnish.
Let’s see how we can make a Mimosa cocktail, though!
- 60ml / 2 parts Champagne
- 30ml / 1 part fresh orange juice
- A twist of orange zest or a slice of orange (for the garnish)
Pour the Champagne into a Champagne flute, top it with the orange juice and it is ready to serve.
