Yes, I know, it’s Summer and everyone loves a cool fruity cocktail instead of the heavy ones drunk during Winter time! Whiskey is indeed one of these Winter drinks, but what if I told that you will find today’s cocktail recipe to be truly refreshing and matching the season even though it is made with the addition of Whiskey? Yes, people, still in the Whiskey and Wine Lovers section here! But bear with me for a while and I promise that you will find the above statement-question to be true! 😉
In the previous cocktail post, I talked to you about the Whiskey Bishop Cocktail, a cocktail where you were able to taste this particular combination Scotch Whiskey and Sweet Vermouth. In this one, though, you will be able to try something different as there is also the addition of Drambuie in the combination of the main ingredients of Rye Whiskey and Red Wine. The recipe I am showing you today is called The Giving Tree Cocktail recipe and I think you are going to just love it!
It’s rather easy to make as you only need 10 minutes of your time and although a mixing glass is used, you will see that even if you do not have one, all you can do is just use a large glass as an alternative.
But, enough with my fussing around the drink! Let’s move on to see for yourself…
- 30ml / 1 part Red Wine
- 30ml / 1 part Drambuie
- 30ml / 1 part Rye Whiskey
- 2 dashes of Bitters, Fee Brothers Old Fashioned
Pour the Red wine, Drambuie, Rye Whiskey and bitters into a mixing glass, half-filled with ice cubes. Stir for a bit, strain into a chilled Coupe glass or a Wine glass and The Giving Tree Cocktail is ready to serve!
