Remember in the Sidecar Cocktail recipe how we talked about what Cognac really is? Well, some of you might do remember it already, but let me get back to it so that I can move to today’s cocktail recipe. Why? Just stay with me, and I’ll get to the point. So, what I said was that Cognac is a type of Brandy which is made completely out of white grape varieties. With that being stated, I would like to present to you today’s cocktail recipe, which is no other than the Brandy Alexander cocktail!
Ok, I know, some of you might think ‘but wait, isn’t that made with Whiskey or Gin or something?’ And you are right; this is also an Alexander cocktail. However, please do allow me to tell you that this is a variation of the drink. Like the one, I am going to talk to you about is. And this is why it is called the Brandy Alexander cocktail. So that you can make out which variation we are talking about. And trust me, if you haven’t tried that version of the drink already, you have to, at least once. The combination of the Cognac, Crème de Cacao, Cream and Nutmeg is just amazing! If you are seeking for winter cocktail, then the Brandy Alexander is your drink! And something tells me that you are gonna love this!
So, how about I leave the blubbering aside and tell you what this cocktail is all about? 😉
- 30ml / 1 part Cognac
- 30ml / 1 part Crème de Cacao
- 30ml / 1 part Cream
- Nutmeg, freshly grated for the Garnish
Pour the Cognac, Crème de Cacao, and Cream into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for a bit and then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with the freshly grated Nutmeg, and there you are! Your Brandy Alexander cocktail is ready to serve!
