Autumn Breeze cocktail is a quite refreshing drink meant to be drunk during the autumn. I know, I know! Spring just started, what the hell am I talking about? Trust me, I have a point! Autumn is the season of the year that separates summer from winter, right? The thing is that although for the Northern Hemisphere autumn starts in September, for the Southern Hemisphere it actually starts in March! (Told you I had a point!)
So why not take a look at it? It may surprise you and even find those of you that live in the Northern Hemisphere drinking it anyway!
This cocktail has many variations, amongst which, red wine is added instead of white and lemon and ginger are the accompanying flavors. There are recipes as well where Gin and Aperol are the main ingredients of the cocktail. However, today, we are going to see a variation recipe of the Autumn Breeze cocktail where white wine, peach and apple play the role of the main ingredients. And now that I come to think about it, the touch of cinnamon may actually make it a delightful cocktail to try during the winter season as well, but that may be more of a personal taste and preference.
But let’s elaborate a bit further on that recipe…It will probably give you a hint of what’s the most appropriate season for you to drink it…
- 90ml / 3 parts white wine
- 30ml / 1 part apple cider
- 22,5ml / 3/4 part peach schnapps
- A pinch of cinnamon
- An apple slice (for the garnish)
Pour the wine, apple cider, peach schnapps and cinnamon in a cocktail shaker and shake for a few seconds. Strain into a martini glass with ice, or no ice according to your preference, and garnish with the apple slice. The Autumn Breeze is ready to serve.
